A Glimpse into My Design Process

From quick doodles to detailed concepts, discover the power of sketching in bringing my ideas to life.

The Process

My design journey often begins with a deep dive into online research. Understanding the market landscape and user needs is crucial for crafting effective solutions. Once I'm armed with this knowledge, I unleash my creativity through pen-and-paper brainstorming. Sketching allows me to explore a multitude of possibilities in a dynamic and visual way – it's where the magic happens!
The initial exploration involves a flurry of thumbnails and simple detail sketches. These quick sketches help me capture fleeting ideas and explore diverse directions. As promising concepts emerge, I refine them with more detailed sketches, focusing on key areas to fully flesh out their potential. My tools of choice during this phase are trusty pens and pencils. Ballpoint pens provide a great foundation for lines, while a few color pencils and a marker add pops of color and highlight essential details in the most promising sketches.
Iteration is the heart of my sketching process. I refine ideas through further sketching, focusing on both the overall concept and specific details. This back-and-forth allows me to experiment and arrive at the best possible solution. Once the ideas are well-developed, I seamlessly integrate digital tools like illustration software or CAD to create more polished concepts. Interestingly, my workflow sometimes involves a hybrid approach. I might take a refined digital sketch, print it out, and then continue sketching details on top of the printout. This allows for faster iterations and exploration of intricate details.
